    About me

    Dione Simmons
    LPC

I am a native of New Orleans and I am blessed to have spent my childhood and young adult life in a city enriched in religion, culture, heritage, and family.

I consider myself an easy going, caring and compassionate person that desires the best for everyone. I understand that life can place obstacles in your way but it takes having people in your corner to help you get through it. As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I strive to see the best in people and want to be a light for those living in darkness. I work with clients dealing with depression, anxiety, anger, loss of identity, relationship issues, abandonment, sexual, emotional and physical abuse. I vow to help all those in need, no matter of their race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation or gender. I believe that there are no clear cut ways or short cuts for therapy and will tailor my approaches for therapy to the needs of the individual, couples or group. I enjoy working with individuals, couples, blended families and adolescents that are willing to give their all to the therapeutic process.

I have spent 17 1/2 years as an advocate not only for children in foster care, but for the entire family system. It is important to learn that forgiveness is not just for the accuser but for the victim to be able to move forward and create a better life for themselves.

As a single parent of a teenager that has Autism, I understand what heartache, heartbreak and unconditional love means. In dealing with my child, I can help others deal with their emotions so they can be able to live a wonderful life with their loved ones.

    Education:
